The Avett Brothers are an American folk rock band from Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. The band is made up of two brothers, Scott Avett and Seth Avett, as well as Bob Crawford and Joe Kwon. Doors open at 7:00pm / Show 8:30 pm.

West Belmont Place at The National is hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch. This special day features a buffet brunch, “relaxation stations” just for moms, cookie decorating and card-making projects for children and an art exhibit on the West Lawn of The National’s 65-acre campus.

Enjoy a Friday night with friends and family watching horse and rider combinations compete for the main prize of $5000.

The Child / Adult class starts at 7:00 p.m., followed by the main class, the Mini-Prix at 8:30 p.m.

Bring your own food and drinks for a picnic on the lawn, or rent a VIP box for a more memorable experience. Food will als be aailabl for purchase at the event.

There will be music and dancing until late.

Entry is $30 per car load at the gae.

The famous Delaplane Strawberry Festival returns on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 for its 23rd year. The event is held in the beautiful Virginia countryside at Sky Meadows State Park (11012 Edmonds Lane, Delaplane, Va., 20144).

In addition to more than 6,000 pints of luscious strawberries (for sale in flats, pints, sundaes, and shortcake), the event includes live musical entertainment, children’s activities, raffles, food vendors, and crafters. Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. both days, rain or shine.
