See the mountains of Cumberland and Frostburg like you never have before, while supporting a wonderful cause! Pedal both ways OR ride the historic Mountain Thunder steam train with your bike to Frostburg and bike back on your own steam.

Enjoy refreshments at the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland (NKF-MD)’s three rest stops along the route. Once back in Cumberland, don’t miss the live band performance, children’s activities, food and drinks from local restaurants and an awards ceremony taking place at 3 p.m..

NKF-MD hopes the event will raise $50,000, which will directly support patient and community services such as free early detection, initiatives to heighten awareness of the disease; continuing education programs for kidney doctors and other caregivers; research to fight kidney disease; patient advocacy to make patients’ voices heard through legislative action, and patient financial support when necessary to purchase medicine or transportation.

The National Kidney Foundation of Maryland, serving central and western Maryland, the Delmarva Peninsula and portions of West Virginia, is the area’s only voluntary health agency dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of kidney and urinary tract diseases.
