The acquisition of this new fleet of training boats was made possible through a grant from the District of Columbia and from donations by parents of the NMHF’s youth sailors.
For the last four years NMHF has undergone significant program growth. In 2008 the foundation supported and worked with over 1,200 youth and 250 adult students through its Kids Set Sail, DC Sail, and High School Sailing programs in Southwest DC. The NMHF’s other on-the-water offerings include Charters and Education Programs aboard American Spirit, a 65-foot Schooner which sails the Potomac River.
