Maryland Humanities welcomes pediatrician Mona Hanna-Attisha, who helped explose the lead in Flint, Michigan's water. The author of What the Eyes Don't See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City will discuss her book in conversation with Talbot County Free Library's Bill Peak, answer questions, and sign books. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.   

It is a Maryland crab-tastic feast on the Phillips Crab Deck! This first-ever Crabs and Crushes Deck Party will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Perched into the Baltimore harbor on an overwater dock, the Phillips Crab Deck delivers all the local Eastern Shore favorites. So get your bibs ready, because this Deck Party is about to get a whole lot messier!

Step up to raise awareness of kidney disease, organ donation and the importance of early screening and healthy lifestyle for those at risk. Join the National Kidney Foundation for this inspiring community fundraiser.

In addition to the 3-mile walk (or optional shorter path), enjoy refreshments from Panera Bread, Giant and Starbucks, music by Green Room Karaoke and the Kidney Kids Corner with face painting and games.

Maryland Humanities brings "Pirate Queen" Grace O'Malley back to life through its program, Chautauqua: Making Waves Chautauqua celebrates its 25th season this summer. A living history performance by actor-scholar Mary Ann Jung will be followed by a question and answer session, which will spark spirited conversation and provide educational family fun.  All performances will be held outdoors. Please bring a folding chair. In the case of severe weather, the program will be held in the Steamboat Building auditorium.

A living history performance by actor-scholar Doug Mishler will be followed by a question and answer session, which will spark spirited conversation and provide educational family fun.  All performances will be held outdoors. Please bring a folding chair. In the case of severe weather, the program will be held in the Steamboat Building auditorium.
