Guests are invited to explore new ways of existing at the intersection of the physical and digital realms through captivating experiences, which blend traditional methods with new technology, including projection mapping, 3-D models, virtual reality environments, holographic projections, and soundscape immersions all combined with classic art mediums including sculpture, murals, music and more.  

Spend an afternoon luxuriating in a program that includes Bach’s soulful Cantata 2: Ach Gott vom Himmel sieh darein (Ah God, look down from Heaven) and six of the most beloved and enduring arias of J. S. Bach drawn from the entire lifelong output of the master, including “Erbarme dich,” an alto aria from St. Matthew Passion; “Komm in mein Herzenshaus,” a soprano solo from Cantata 80; “Agnus Dei,” an alto solo from the B Minor Mass; “Ach mein sinn,” a tenor aria from St.

Celebrate our 35th Anniversary with an all-Bach tribute, including Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 & Cantata 182. The program features Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. Bach wrote the six Brandenburg Concertos as a set of audition pieces. For that reason, he explored all boundaries in Baroque music. The result is one of the greatest treasures of all of Western Civilization.  Following is Cantata 182 Himmelskönig, sei willkommen (King of Heaven, welcome),  a perfect musical welcome to several new artists joining us for the first time this season.

Bach in Baltimore kicks off its 35th Anniversary Season with a concert featuring two musical forms that define Baroque Period Music. The concert opens with Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 1 in C Major, a masterwork in Baroque counterpoint, a technique that uses multiple melodies to play simultaneously, creating contrast, highlight, and interplay. Bach excelled at counterpoint, one of the many reasons his music stands the test of time. A Baroque cantata will close the concert. Bach in Baltimore is one of the only music ensembles that regularly performs Bach’s cantatas.
