PRESS RELEASE: 5th ANNUAL CANTINA CUP REGATTA

Whether racing or just watching, this event promises fun out on the water!

On Saturday, August 11th, join DC Sail at the Gangplank Marina for the 5th Annual Cantina Cup Regatta, an event that attracts sailors from all over the Mid-Atlantic region. Cantina Cup features a full day of sailing. Over 100 participating sailors will race DC Sail's Lasers, FJs, and Flying Scots. We urge sailors from other organizations to bring their own boats and participate as well. Money raised supports DC Sail's educational programs. There will be an After Party/Awards Ceremony at Cantina Marina. Tickets are $20. Non-racers are invited to purchase spectator tickets aboard DC Sail’s schooner American Spirit. The Corona-sponsored spectator boat will be the best view of the racing from 1pm to 4 pm. Tickets include free adult beverages and discounted admission to the Mount Gay After Party.

The Cantina Cup is a great event to attend as a participant AND as a spectator! Last year’s attendees were excited about the fantastic wind, the competitive group of sailors, and the camaraderie.
