Beethoven's Fifth

This rich brew of lush favorites continues with solo performances by two of The Philadelphia Orchestra's beloved musicians, Principal Harp Elizabeth Hainen and Principal Cello Hai-Ye Ni, in music by Turina and Saint-Saëns. Balancing out all that romance is Beethoven's storied, thunderous Fifth Symphony, the piece that helped create the image of Beethoven the Defiant, railing against fate.
