Phillips Puts On a Fresh New Face in Baltimore

Phillips Puts On a Fresh New Face in Baltimore

Classic Casual Dining: Phillips new Baltimore location, now known as Phillips Seafood, is an exciting and easy blend of vintage and modern, with a nod to the longstanding tradition of Phillips restaurants.

Phillips at the Power Plant sits directly on the water, just a few steps away from its old Light Street Pavilion location, in the iconic renovated Power Plant industrial building that is now a key fixture of the Inner Harbor. The innovative redesign of the interior by Carl Myers and Marcie DeLaRosa shows off gleaming, rich woods and jewel toned stained glass fixtures, distressed finishes and antiqued mirrors juxtaposed with a modern, open kitchen.

The menu reflects the casual upscale vibe, too: traditional favorites complimented by inventive new menu offerings. Phillips favorites include the signature Premium Crab Cakes and Cream of Crab soup that have delighted generations of diners. New creative items from Chef Todd Weisz include apricot chipotle tuna tartare, grilled Portobello goat cheese salad, sour orange skirt steak and chimichurri (to name just a few) which reflect a fresh, inspired new attitude toward dining.

Of particular note: the spectacular outdoor crab deck, smack on the water and steps away from the National Aquarium. Sitting on Pier 4, the crab deck will be open in warm weather months and serves hard shell and soft shell crabs with a “crab house” style menu focused on steamed seafood in a fun and easy atmosphere.

Hip yet warm, expansive yet intimate, the new Phillips location will fast become a favorite meeting place for diners of all ages.

Phillips by the water-always a view.

a chopped salad to remember

Had a business mtg at Phillips Harborplace and decided to try their signature chopped salad with lump crabmeat. The salad was great, with a housemade dressing, feta and bacon (which I actully left off). An appetizer that blew me away was the crab lump stuffed mushroom caps-great flavor. Great surprise from Harborplace's oldest restaurant-Phillips Restaurant is new again!

Had people in from out of town for lunch meeting and we ended up at Phillips. The food was great and very reasonably priced for this time of year and for a restaurant at the Inner Harbor. A good time was had by all! The service was good. I definitely recommend Phillips!

A perenial Baltimore favorite. Had dinner there on Friday with a college buddy in town for the weekend. The food was good and so was the service. The menu has changed a little bit from what it use to be but its still good!

It was our first time in this restaurant though we have heard of the good reputation. We ordered steamed mojito clams as appetizer. One of the clams was closed and when we opened it it was full of mud! Even worse was the attitude of the manager, who came to tell us it could have happened in any seafood restaurant and was not a big deal! They did not charge us for the clams but the low health standard and the poor apology of the manager were unacceptable. I do not recommend Phillips to anyone!
