Pazo is one of those places
Pazo is one of those places where you go to feel like you're not in Baltimore. The space is exquisite and unlike anything else in the city. I visited Pazo last night with two of my closest girlfriends. Since it was a Sunday night, it was pretty low key, but nonetheless very relaxing. We had some options to choose from; Restaurant week for $35.11 or Prix Fix for $40. We ended up choosing several tapas to share, which included: Hummus, tonno crudo, scallop carpaccio, goat cheese enchiladas, and wood-grilled mushrooms. The goat cheese empanadas are a MUST HAVE. Although they were the simplest item, they were by far the favorite amongst my guests and me. The tonno crudo was delicious as well (but I love any and all tuna). We also chose to do one prix fix that we all shared. The beef tartare was outstanding (and very hard to find anywhere anymore) where as the paella and pasta with crab meat was nothing special. Cocktails are also a specialty at pazo, options large enough to satisfy any palate. Highly recommend the sangria (sangreto) for only $5 a glass. The sparkling rose is also delicious as an after dinner drink. Only complaint I have is the change they made for restaurant week from last year. This year is a limited menu (albeit you still get 4 tapas per person). Last year, you could pick any 4 tapas from the regular menu.

An excellent evening to be had here...
Hands down... BEST Tapas in Baltimore. Here, you will find a very ecclectic and unique setting, including an open area for friends to meet and "Chill out" on comfy leather couches and seating in an open atrium setting. The steak and lamb here are both amazing. Prior to this, I enjoyed the olives and wide array of cheese appetizers. The Manchego cheese here really tops any other I have tried in the area. Not to mention, the cocktails are among the best I have tasted in the state (or anywhere I have visited in the country). There is truly nothing else quite like Pazo in Baltimore. There is music and a lively atmosphere at night and I understand that a new $5 happy hour is soon to begin here! For this, I will certainly come back and am getting the word out to friends. Thank you, Pazo... for many several nights and fabulous food! I will see you all again shortly.

What more could we ask? It's
What more could we ask? It's does sound like a happy hour bar: affordable drinks, nice place to hang out, they even have the valet parking. Sounds nice to me. What kind of bar equipment do they have? Got any details on that?

PAZO Restaurant Fire Update
At approximately 11:00AM today, a fire broke out in the EJ Codd building, where Pazo is located, in Harbor East. The fire never made its way into the physical space of the restaurant. There is no damage to the dining space, lounge or bar in Pazo. A moderate amount of damage did occur in the kitchen from attempts to discover the source of the fire, and to contain it. From information we've received, the fire started in an adjacent building and moved forward. A restoration company is already on-site repairing the damage.
Pazo will make a reopening announcement in a few days. We'll release the new autumn menu, which we are very excited about and have spent the past couple of weeks planning.

Pazo
We spent time at PAZO on Saturday night with Will at the bar. I love ordering a bunch of little items and then enjoying the surprise of which item will come out first and then what little plates will follow. I think it is the lack of predictability that keeps me coming back. The wine glasses change, the plates change... shapes, and now the new menu offers some inventive combinations that all work. The best was manchego and manzana 2.0 - amazing! Viva Tony Foreman
