Miguel's Cocina y Cantina http://www.miguelsbaltimore.com: Michael Marx's new Baltimore Mexican restaurant at Silo Point.
Miguel’s Mexican Restaurant in Silo Point serves up Baltimore's Best, Most Authentic Mexican Food. The interior is gorgeous, thematic and will impress. High ceilings, decorated windows with 'mean' mexican cartoon-like images. Great for families, date-night or solo at the bar. Miguel's serves up a delicious array of small plates along with eclectic Mexican entrees in an atmosphere that is both playful and dramatic. The restaurant also serves up a variety of tequilas, house-made margaritas, and an assortment of Mexican beers to accompany its diverse menu. Try the tequilla menu, sangria or many cervesas!
Michael Marx is Executive Chef/Owner-also owns of RUB Bar-B-Q and former owner of Blue Agave in Federal Hill which he sold to new owners a handful of years ago.

Not Even Close to the Miguel's in San Diego
I believe the owner got his idea from the four Miguel's Cocina Mexican Restaurant chain in San Diego. There's nothing authentic about the food. There's no ceviche, marlin tacos, aguachiles, mole, chile reno, chilaquiles verdes, torta de milensa, aguas de jamaica and horchata, very limited selection of enchiladas, etc. I will have to agree El Tri Burrito was not good. The meats in the El Tri were were very bland, no taste at all. Fish Tacos not even close to its origin of Ensenada, Baja California Norte, Mexico.
The ambiance and tequila selection was good...that's about it.

Miguel's last night
Ugh. I finally learned my lesson. We live around the corner from Rub (same owner as miguels). Food and service are always hit and miss. We banned it for a while, but went back last night. 1 server for all tables and the bar. We picked up and went to Miguels. We ran into the owner and told him of the problem we just had at Rub. He apologised nicely (blaming "monday"). Later that night, my wife began to have stomach cramps. The next day we both had severe diarrhea all day long and into the evening. The only common food or experience was both ordering the Tri Burrito. I will never go back to either of these restaurants again.

Miguel's last evening
Went to Miguel's at Silo Point in the snow this evening. Lamb flautas and chorizo empanadas all were killer. Carne asada over the top. Exceptional experience. Michael said that they are getting slammed so highly recommend reservations but well worth it. Haven't had Centenario reposado in quite awhile but did this evening.
I lived in San Diego...this is the real deal!!

Miguel's Cocina y Cantina www.miguelsbaltimore.com
Miguel's Cocina y Cantina http://www.miguelsbaltimore.com: Michael Marx's new Mexican restaurant in Baltimore. Love the house sangria, homemade guacomole and the shrimp appetizer ith jicama. Interesting art on the windows that seem to reach the sky in this high-celing spot in Locust Point's Silo Point. Appears to have Federal Hillers flocking to the once owner of Blue Agave and current owner of sister, Rub BarBQ, Michael Marx. OLE!
