13.5% Wine Bar Hip in Hampden New Daily Wine Specials - 13.5winebar.com Seasonal Food and Wine Specials.

Chef Sarah Acconcia, is taking the food at 13.5% to new levels. Her menu, unfazed by the lack of open flame in the kitchen, includes unexpected items such as seared foie gras, muscles with chorizo and wine broth, and smoked eggplant lasagna just to name a few. All created with a deep respect for the raw ingredients and simple, creative preparations to showcase the finished product.

A great compliment to her standard menu is the Sunday Farmers' Market Menu. A fresh prefix menu, imagined and designed while shopping at the JFX Farmers' Market each week. All items are crafted from what's fresh, local and in season around Baltimore. A 3-course menu, all for $20.

All in all, with more than 40 wines by the glass, over 200 by the bottle and an impressive and affordable menu,  including a large cheese selection, 13.5% hopes to continue to be your neighborhood favorite, in addition to being the Best of Baltimore.

Nice

It's been a while since I've been to 13.5 because I'm not a big wine drinker, but when we had some guests in from Italy we went and had good service, a nice meal, and good wine. Even our guests liked the wine and to them, wine is a religion.

Food with style

If you're looking for a chic, modern bar for any occasion, this is the bar for you HON!

Obviously the wine selection is commendable, but the food menu has something of value too!
If you're going for just drink and snacks, I recommend the winter radishes, the house charcuterie, or the bison meatballs.
If you're looking for something just a bit more substantial to eat, the pulled duck confit tacos were intriguing although could have used a bit more flavor or spice. I haven't had the opportunity to eat for a full entree yet, but I will definitely return for a taste!

There is nothing that looks

There is nothing that looks more appealing to me that those old style wine cellars that hold dusty old bottles of wines that are the finest quality. I don't know if this bar fits my picture but as long it has a good variety of wines I'd gladly pay it a visit.

Dinner AND Drinks

Went to 13.5 Thursday night for dinner where we had the vegetarian panini and white pizza accompanied by a wonderful bottle of Caldora, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

Yesterday we went to the Hampdenfest and stopped in for a couple drinks. We had a few Lagunitas Pilsners and chatted with Wayne for a while. He has made this a very comfortable and friendly wine bar/restaurant. We highly recommend this spot!

13.5 Wine Bar

We love our frequent trips to 13.5. The wine selection is as good as any in town and they have a nice menu with something for everyone. We have found the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable. Wayne has made 13.5 a winner!

Hamden Wine Bar-great surprise!

Not able to make it to the Sunday Farmers Market? We recommend the seasonal farmers' market menu at 13.5% Wine Bar on Sundays. Chef Sarah shops at the Baltimore Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings and then prepares a seasonal feast for diners. 3 courses $20 on the night we went. We sampled a PEACHY menu starting with grilled peaches on micro greens served with a poblano bail sauce for dipping-delicious! We also tried a flight of pinot noir travelling from France to Sonoma, CA to Oregon. A real treat for $22. Try and visit the 13.5% Wine Bar site here.

Stopped by for a drink this

Stopped by for a drink this past weekend. Love what they have done with the space, very inviting, well laid out, mixing old with new. Had a few nibbles of a peach and field green salad, and a glass of Pierre Ponnelle, VdP d'Oc 2008, which proved to be a fantastic middle of the road French Burgundy.

Looking forward to going back soon. A very enjoyable experience. If you aren't into wine make sure you sample one of Colin's fine drinks!

Just getting worse and worse

In the beginning it was great-I was in awe about how such a simple bread plate could be so delectable and the process of ordering a cheese plate was fun and informative, the server would roll over the cart of cheese and explain a bit about each. A couple months later I was disappointed that the menu had changed and the food was definitely not as good(ex. roasted potatoes had turned into stale, unsalted potato chips). On my most recent visit this past week, I was appalled at how downhill this place has gone. There was so explanation of wine choices that I had so appreciated before and when we order the cheese tray, our server said do you want to go over and pick them out or do you want me to do it- we had her do it and just were no happy with the selection- which happens sometimes. The part that bothered me the most is that she never asked what we thought of the selection or of our meal in general. Food was mediocre. If its just for the wine, I'd go back- but never for the food.

highly recommend 13.5% wine bar in baltimore
