Disappointed Hotel Indigo plans are scrapped. Not surprised though..the economy has rally impacted hospitality industry.

Hotel Indigo tells us it is NOT OPENING in Baltimore anytime soon due to lack of funding.

Fibonacci is the sequence design that is used throughout the design of the new Indigo hotel.

The Fibonacci sequence is series of numbers where the next number in the series is found by taking the sum of the previous two numbers. It relates to the Hotel Indigo in how it inspired the hotel's brand design with the seashells and the decor within the hotel.

Hotel Indigo® is based on a universal design constant found in nature, art and architecture known as the Golden Mean, the Fibonacci Sequence or Phi.

The nautilus shell, the brand icon of Hotel Indigo, reflects the perfect proportion of the Golden Mean.

Fibonacci seq is 1,1,2,3,5…such that each number=sum of prev. 2. Draw squares with sides=to each # in seq. sharing one side with longest side of prior structure. Then draw continuous curve through each square, starting with 1st sq and moving out the opposite corner from each square you enter, resulting spiral will match proportion of nautilus shell design in Indigo logo

in addition to my earlier comment fibonacci numbers are found in nature ie "the golden mean" and the sequence of these numbers build the structure of many beautiful things in nature ie plants flowers shells. renaissance buliders used there proportions for many of their buliding structures to simulate nature and relaxation...a principal the indigo hotels use as well...

In addition to the FB being the sum of the previous two numbers, could Indigo be symbolic of the spiralled nautilus shell's relationship to the the mysterious chilazon creature, which was used for it's blue dye in biblical times?

I stayed in a hotel Indigo in Indiana - beautiful! It has to do with how nature plays a role in how we live, so the designs are all mathematically and naturally "sound." In particular, the clamshel is what they use as their "signature" which is designed by the Fibonacci sequence.

It would have to do with the Fibonacci rectangles that would box in or frame the spiral of the shell in the Indigo logo.
