Vasarri Closes, but Executive spreads her love & helps greater Women's cause.

Vasarri was my go-to area womens clothing boutique-for shoes, accessories, and clothes that were special. Recently, owner Gail Kandel shuttered her doors in an effort to change gears, spend quality time with freinds and family off work! Well, Gail helped kick off a new fabulous spot that reflects love of ladies overall, a consignment shop to benefit The House of Ruth.

Terry Wurnser spoke with me yesterday delighted to announce the 'soft opening' of RUTH'S CLOSET, a resale boutique open to the public and free to those abused women of need. In 2009, Ms. Wurmser transitioned to a newly created position at the House Of Ruth serving as Director of Social Enterprises & Special Projects.  She she explained she developed the business plan for the House Of Ruth’s first social enterprise, RUTH'S CLOSET, a resale boutique that will generate revenue to support programs and services for battered women and their children and, importantly, create work experience opportunities for House Of Ruth clients.

"A good deal of Vasarri clothing, as well as furniture and fixtures, has gone to "Ruth" to be part of this wonderful new adventure. The winds of fate and good fortune brought the timing for the birth of Ruth's Closet together with the closing of Vasarri. I couldn't have wished for a happier ending, or a better beginning." Please join me in celebrating this wonderful new store," states Gail Kandel.

Recently spotted was a short fox jacket, a mink and Persian lamb jacket, lots of beautiful scarves, suits, pants, skirts, handbags and shoes. There are treasures in every corner waiting for you to discover them. A friend gobbled up a lovely Ferragamo purse for $125! And she just happened by the first hours at the soft opening!

Please note, all the proceeds-100%- go directly to programs and services that help battered women and children rebuild their lives free of fear. Ruth's Closet is located in the Valley Village Shopping Center on Reisterstown Road - at the lower level with plenty of parking.

To be kept apprised of Ruth's Closet news, you can sign up for an email alert .  And in Gail's words "This is a store where instead of asking for a discount, you may want to add a donation."

I love Ruth's Closet! I've

I love Ruth's Closet! I've found great buys there. I even found a great pair of golf shoes. I think it is great that Ruth's Closet is also very charitable.
