"I am deeply saddened to learn of the sudden and tragic death Patrick McCusker. 'Scunny' was an inventive and energetic restaurateur, and deeply committed to the success of all businesses in Canton. It is impossible to quantify his positive contributions to the City of Baltimore. Scunny's restaurants not only offered outstanding food in an amazing atmosphere but also a sense of community. Canton wouldn't be what it is today without small business pioneers like Scunny.
Patrick was also my friend. His honesty and support through the years was greatly appreciated, and will be dearly missed. He was one of a kind.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends today. At this time, the memories of his joy and laughter will bring us together in celebration of his life."
