TALARA Baltimore, Baltimore's Nuevo Latin-inspired tapas restaurant, is now open for lunch. We answered a twitter invitation and were one of the 1st to sample Talara Baltimore’s new menu created and overseen by Chef/Owner himself, Yves Carreau (who also runs Sonoma Grill in Pittsburgh), his right-arm, General Manager, Nick Rizzo (both seen to the left w/CITYPEEK.com Patti Neumann) and the handsome, Asst. General Manager, Ari Cohen. Highlights we sampled on the new lunch menu were a seared & sliced spicy, ahi tuna salad served with pistachios and blue cheese crumbles and a Bento box-with salad, fresh omlette, cerviche, many options--a healthy-style boxyou will find no fried items like a typical Japanese box. Also at lunch is a non-alcohol ice tea mojito. www.citypeek.com/baltimore/dining [1]

Nick’s TRASH BASH hosted by Teri Betit and John Wilhide (& his lovely wife, Erica) of NICK’S FISHOUSE to Benefit the Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper was terrific. 180 people came out on Saturday 19th to dance, eat oysters –also provided by Exec Chef Ben E of OCEANAIRE who served them up grilled to perfection with butter and parmesian. A huge buffet of hot seafood and great items like pit beef, paella, crab balls, so much food. The music ended its even with up and comer Derek Sholl who played original and cover tunes to delight all! He even got me dancing! www.citypeek.com/baltimore/dining [1]
