A big welcome to Painted Palette to Baltimore (www.paintedpalettebaltimore.com [1]). I heard wine and I heard art and city life and I was smitten with this story. This is the concept: In a relaxed, social, group setting, an artist will guide you through replicating the night's featured painting step by step. Whether you are an aspiring Van Gogh or just looking to explore your creative side, you are sure to go home with a painting that is uniquely yours. By the end of the evening you will be amazed at the artwork you have created! The classes start at 6:30 but we suggest arriving early to get registered and the seat of your choice. Classes are 2- 2 1/2 hours with frequent breaks.
"We are a creative arts and spirits class that blends art, wine, music. Our goal is to bring a unique kind of art entertainment to Baltimore," states co-owner, Becca Hauser. My co-owner and I are both Baltimoreans and are thrilled at the response we've received to our classes thus far. We're in the process of opening up our own studio in the Hampden area (Meadow Mill), but right now we hold classes at various locations around the area", she continues.

Wine Choice du Jour: Carmel Road Liberated Chardonnay, Monteray 2012
Carmel Road Winery is located in the heart of Monterey County where the air is crisp and the tempo is relaxed and measured. Most mornings their sustainably grown vineyards are shrouded in fog. Most afternoons a brisk wind blows from the Monterey Bay southward along the ridge tops and benchlands of Salinas Valley delivering fresh, cool maritime air. For years this region was considered too cold and windy to grow world-class grapes. Today, Monterey boasts some of the most highly-acclaimed AVAs in all of California.
Since 1999 Carmel Road has been producing stunning Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from some of Monterey's finest benchland vineyards using innovative and sustainable farming and winemaking practice.
This Chardonnay was sourced primarily from the Clark Vineyard, certified sustainable by the SIP organization (Sustainability In Practice) since 2008. 2011 "Liberated" Chardonnay is 100% stainless steel fermented.
Hints of apricot, honeydew, light butter, touch of aci, great chiled on a hot day.
