[5]Benefitting the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland, Kidney Walk is a fun, inspiring, community fundraiser that calls attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation.
Participants can choose from a 3-mile or 1-mile path, or a special route for wheelchairs. Cheering on participants will be Keyote, the Frederick Keys mascot. Adding to the fun will be refreshments, a DJ and festivities for all ages, including face painting and hula hoops.
Funds raised through Kidney Walk will directly support NKF-MD’s patient services, education and research efforts. More than 3,500 people participated in the 2012 Kidney Walk events, which raised over $370,000.
