LOVE IS IN THE AIR AT THE MARYLAND ZOO!
Join us for the most exotic Valentine’s event of the season
Cranes have elaborate courtship dances, male Panamanian golden frogs chirp and “wave” to attract females, and male porcupines have a decidedly strange courtship ritual which involves dousing the female with his urine. Want to learn more about courtship and mating in the Animal Kingdom? Join us and feel the love at the Zoo’s Adults-Only event, Sex at the Zoo.
On Thursday, February 11, 2010, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is hosting a wild Valentine’s Day event with all the animal lovin’ you can imagine! Enjoy live jazz music, a raw bar, beer and wine, sumptuous hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts while learning the facts about “woo” in the Animal Kingdom. General Curator Mike McClure and Associate Veterinarian Dr. Allison Wack are crafting a unique presentation on the courtship and mating habits of some of the Zoo’s residents.
The event will be held on the Zoo’s Mansion House Porch. It runs from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and is only appropriate for those 21-and-over. Tickets are $75 per person or $125 per couple and should be purchased in advance at www.marylandzoo.org [3].
The birds and the bees will be here -- you should be too!
