Thanksgiving was a success, the turkey perfect, a plethora of accouterments, a full stomach, and very nicely paired wines. The holidays are a time to reflect and celebrate with friends and family alike, however it often has us worrying to make sure everything is perfect
I had the pleasure last weekend of heading down to Wine Cellars of Annapolis [2] for a Thanksgiving Wine Tasting. Last Saturday was 12 wines; a mix of whites from Oregon's Willamette Valley, California Bordeaux's and blends served by the fine staff at WCA [2]. To accompany the domestic wines, they had a gentleman from France tasting champagne, Riesling, a White from Alsace, a Bordeaux, and another red from Saint-Emilion. Wine novices and aficionados alike all were treated to various choices to compliment a Thanksgiving meal.
Do yourself a favor and head down to WCA on a Saturday to experience a tasting, they are run every Saturday from 12 - 4pm in their Barrel Room. Its a great way to beat those winter blues, learn more about wine, and take the stress out of your holiday planning. Best yet is everything is discounted, regardless of whether you buy a few bottles or a case.
