The People's House, as it was once known, is currently the most
protected property in the world -- and given the events of Sept. 11,
2001. Stop by the WHITE HOUSE to take a peek from the outside, or, if
you can, plan ahead for a tour. Take a camera and listen closely to
your guide. Savor the craft, workmanship and opulence that rivals any
palace in the world. Feel the presence of Abraham Lincoln, who is said
to still roam the halls on dark, stormy nights. There so much history
in the house around every corner. After being suspended for two years
after Sept. 11, 2001, public tours of the White House have resumed.
Reservations must be made through your member of Congress.
