The name Welcombe is derived from the Anglo-Saxon words Weill a spring and Combe a valley. Built in 1866 this imposing Jacobean mansion in the Calendar House style was designed with 7 entrances, days of the week and 12 fireplaces, months 52 chimneys, weeks and 365 windows days of the year. This feature was said to infuse luck and prosperity to everyone who stayed. On arrival at the hotel you will appreciate the hotel's impressive interior. The lounge was once the Great Hall and has the original oak panelling, ornate mirrors, chandeliers and period furniture. The massive marble fireplace has also been retained where during the winter months a welcoming log fire is set. The hotel has magnificent views over its 157 acre grounds onto the 18 hole championship golf course and the Warwickshire countryside. |

The Menzies Welcombe hosts 11 conference and banqueting suites. With such a wide selection of suites our luxury Stratford hotel is the perfect choice for your conference requirements. All the Conference and Banqueting suites have been completely refurbished, including the Welcombe suite, which is the largest function suite seating 300 delegates. The Nestfield suite seats 120 guests and has direct access on to the outstanding Italian gardens. The development of two new executive style boardrooms has been completed and comfortably seats 12 delegates with outstanding views of the Italian gardens and the championship golf course beyond.

Against a beautiful backdrop, a golfing break at the Menzies Welcombe Hotel Spa & Golf Club is a wonderful experience. The par 70, 18 hole championship golf course, with its lakes and rolling countryside is challenging for the expert and exhilarating for the novice. The golf course is an absolute gem, occupying 157 acres. The redesigned hotel golf course is somewhat unusual in that it includes three par five and five par three holes. In 1998 the course was home to the European Seniors Tour Ryder Event. From the back tees the course measures a deceptively long 6288 yards. The new luxury Welcombe Spa which opened in May 2006 features an impressive level deck swimming pool with a separate external vitality pool four thermal experience rooms a selection of Clarins treatment rooms a gymnasium and an aerobics studio. There are certain times where children can use the hotels pool and leisure facilities which are:- 10am-12midday and 3pm-5pm.
