Exhibit Makes its East Coast Debut in Washington, DC from May 9th – August 5th
This summer, the children’s exhibit Science + You will make its East Coast debut in Washington, DC. The exhibit is designed to spark an interest in science among kids, through fun, interactive displays and hands-on experiments.
Hosted by Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region, the exhibit was developed by Kohl Children’s Museum in cooperation with scientists from the global health care company Abbott. The company’s philanthropic foundation, the Abbott Fund, also provided support for the exhibit.
The exhibit encourages children to “learn by doing,” giving them the opportunity to slip on a white lab coat and play “scientist for a day” in a child-size laboratory complete with fun activities that help them explore scientific concepts, including germ awareness and education.
Science + You also links to a key national issue – the growing need for more focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education.
Admission is free.
