It was a gorgeous summer evening in the nation’s capital and I enjoyed a lovely soiree at the Empress Lounge of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Wasington DC. My dining partner and I, headed out al fresco onto the Riverside Terrace  by the Japanese Gardens which had an ambience of it’s own. East met West in luxury, with beautiful views of the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. A passing airplane added to the adventure.
