Social Media isn’t just a spontaneous thought. Although it may appear to be a spur of the moment thought. Smart Social Strategies are well thought out, planned, even strategically plotted plans.
Making a very successful plan in using social media is serious business. Planning and strategizing g your social media marketing leads your business becoming more productive, can help in improving your sales for your business, increasing your bottom line.
From the question itself, What is your Social Media Strategies? Be consistent with the everyday routine on facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, pinterest and etc., and constant communication with your fan base and clients. I suggest mapping out a two month calendar with daily postings. If a hotel or restaurant, talk about an upcoming convention coming to town, room or food specials and special happenings around town for visitors.
If a retail shop, why not discuss fashion amongst the politicians during this time. Discuss Obama and Romney’s clothing choices and that of their wives. Post pictures of similar products or choices your brand might suggest. Believe it or not, a lot of planning goes on with such fashion decisions for politicians. Did you know that there is a prior discussion of which candidate wears a blue and which a red tie? Neither does the same on the same night.
Overall, spark discussion and conversations, don’t try to flat out sell on facebook. These viral avenues are about generating interest in your product or service. Generating a buzz, researching public opinion are very effective uses of social media avenues. The outcome of such discussions can lead to marketing plans and sales, but the impetus goes back to the ABC’s of social media
Build Awareness. Build Your Brand. Create Community
So now, gather your executive team together and take out the December Calendar and January 2013. Map out important dates, sales, social events. But more importantly, build a story, share photos, create a true following. EX: Restaurants: If you are serving a hamburger, don’t just sell it’s burger night tonight. Talk about your kitchen’s the use of a local, sustainable, farm raised beef. Share that the rolls are made locally by bakery ABC. Perhaps you use Natty Boh beer in the mix. Crate a story that connects with your loyal fan base.
Then, share the story though the weeks, sprinkle it with other happenings around current events locally, nationally and internationally. Try it, map out a plan, it will help organize your thoughts, plans and help in a more effective social media strategy.
