The bold and fresh flavors of Latin America are coming to Annapolis. Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar, set to open September 16, 2010, will be located in Annapolis Towne Centre off Riva Road and across from Gordon Biersch. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 4:00 p.m. and will feature food and drink samples, live Latin music, and brief remarks from area dignitaries and the restaurant’s owners.
“We’re so excited to bring our fresh interpretation of Latin American fare to Annapolis. Our goal is to create a fun, lively, and enthusiastically welcoming place that our guests will think of for everything from family dinners to business lunches to romantic evenings,” said Andy Himmel, Managing Member of Paladar Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar.
The approachable menu is inspired by flavors, ingredients, and dishes from Central & South America, Cuba and the Latin Caribbean. “Our guests especially love our freshly prepared guacamole, slow roasted and grilled meats, fresh seafood, and homemade salsas,” according to Himmel.
The lunch and dinner menus will feature appetizers, soups, fresh salads, Latin comfort foods, steaks and chops, sandwiches, and desserts. A sampling of dishes include: Rum Glazed Pork Cubano, Mojo Marinated Atlantic Salmon, Cuban Braised Beef “Ropa Vieja”, El Cubano Sandwich, and Paladar’s Blackened Fish Tacos. An assortment of ceviche will be available featuring Ecuadorian Shrimp, Tuna and Watermelon and Sweet & Spicy Salmon.
