Jubilee Arts, a new arts program bordering the Sandtown-Winchester and Upton neighbohorhoods, presents the Todd Marcus Quartet featuring guest pianist Xavier Davis on Friday, March 12 from 8-11pm.
Jubilee Arts' is located at 1947 Pennsylvania Avenue in the newly built Harris-Marcus Center and focuses on offering arts classes to its underserved communities with arts classes in ceramics, visual arts, dance, and writing. The organization also has ambitions to bring jazz back to Baltimore's historic Pennsylvania Avenue which once was a heart of live music in Baltimore. This March 12 performance will be a first step in that revival effort.
The performance with feature a quartet led by bass clarinetist and composer Todd Marcus and will feature New York pianist Xavier Davis whose work has included performance with Betty Carter, Freddie Hubbard, Gary Bartz, and The Boys Choir of Harlem.
