Tiki Barge Reprieve
I attended the hearing yesterday in support of the Tiki Barge. While I fully understand the position of the petitioners, i.e. they are now dealing with a noise level that they never bargained for and are now dealing with the behavior of today's "youth". Residents of Federal Hill deal with the same. Hell, I've experienced it in broad daylight while walking along Cross Street when the students are let out of Digital Harbor High School. And these kids weren't coming from the Tiki Barge. It is what it is, sadly enough.
Back on point...in all of my visits to the Tiki Barge I can say that I never witnessed the behavior that the petitioners cited in their complaints. I was there on the day it opened and the day it closed for the season and many, many days in between. If Harborview loses the Tiki Barge it'll be a sad day for many.

tiki Barge controversy
Wow-this is interesting stuff-what is your opinion and those of the residents of Harborview & Marina?

TIKI BARGE SAVED
THIS JUST IN! After hours of testimony before the Liquor Board at City Hall today, it was decided by the Board that the Tiki Barge and the objecting neighbors have 14 days from today to settle their differences. I'd say that's one for the Tiki Barge.

There's ALWAYS a breeze on 'the Barge"
The Tiki Barge is what the Southside has needed for a very long time. If you want to enjoy the pool, there is a $10 admission, which secures your chair & offers up a complimentary drink. If you want to bypass the pool, head to the shade underneath the thatched roof of the Tiki Barge. There is no charge. Burgers & dogs on the grill are the food offerings at this point. A full kitchen and heartier menu is in the works. Warm & friendly service is the norm. The breathtaking panoramic view of Baltimore is second to none. Parking is available along Key Highway as well as the parking lot adjacent to the Marina. I hear the maximum charge on the lot is $15.
