The Classic Five Golf Courses in Baltimore:-As the nation’s first nonprofit organization dedicated to the management and operation of municipal golf courses, the Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC) has become a model for municipal golf operations nationwide. For over 20 years, BMGC’s Classic Five courses Mount Pleasant, Pine Ridge, Clifton Park, Forest Park and Carroll Park have provided millions of golfers the opportunity to play where legends have played. PGA and LPGA hall-of-fame players, Arnold Palmer, Nancy Lopez and Jim Thorpe all began their careers on BMGC’s courses and this proud golfing heritage continues on today.

The Classic Five Golf Courses in Baltimore:
Mount Pleasant Golf Course-In 1956, Arnold Palmer secured his second American tournament win as a touring golfer at this course. It was also home of the Eastern Invitational Open from 1950-1963. Mt. Pleasant is a favorite for players looking for the challenge of a rolling terrain where uneven lies are the norm.

Pine Ridge Golf Course- Nancy Lopez won her second professional tournament here. Pine Ridge is also the past home of several PGA and LPGA Tournaments, The Eastern Open, Lady Carling Open and Greater Baltimore Golf Classic. Opened in 1956, the scenic water and pine trees of the Loch Raven watershed setting make this course both beautiful and a challenge for golfers of all skills.

Clifton Park Golf Course-Baltimore's first public golf course, Clifton Park was built in 1915 on the grounds of Johns Hopkins’ summer mansion. Today, the course continues its tradition of providing golfers with unique views of Baltimore's urban landscape as well as a forgiving course layout. Clifton Park continues to be known for the outstanding quality of the putting greens.

Forest Park Golf Course-Originally a 9-hole facility, Forest Park is now a combination of two styles and challenges. The original course winds through a wooded landscape and tests even the most skilled players with tight fairways, imposing trees and hilly terrain.  The course opens up during the back nine, allowing players to make up a few shots they may have lost on the front nine.

Carroll Park Golf Course- The perfect place to enjoy a quick round or learn the game, Carroll Park is the closest Classic Five course to downtown Baltimore's convention hotels and business district. With 10 holes, it offers an ideal oasis from meetings, seminars, tradeshows and work.

BMGC continues its mission of providing affordable, quality golf to the citizens of Baltimore with courses that have been recognized by GolfDigest, Golf World, the United States Golf Journal, and The National Golf Foundation. Nowhere in the tri-state area can golfers play on well-manicured courses from under $25 to $35 - a remarkable fee that includes a golf cart.
