Dine Out for the Cure

5

The Marland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is proud to announce our inaugural Dine Out for the Cure® program! Participating restaurants have pledged a portion of their sales for the day in support of Komen Maryland and the fight against breast cancer. From that percentage, 75% of the net revenue stays in Maryland to fund breast cancer screening, treatment, education and support programs. The remaining 25% funds the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Grants Program for research.

The program begins on Friday, October 14, 2011 and runs through Sunday, October 23, 2011.

Click here for a complete list of participating restaurants.

Light Maryland Pink

Since its inception in 2009, the Light Maryland Pink campaign has successfully spread the message of breast cancer awareness throughout the state of Maryland. The Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has reached out to Maryland counties, businesses and landmarks and the response was overwhelming. A number of businesses, landmarks, and county buildings will be lit pink during October. Additionally, some counties have issued proclamations in support of Komen Maryland and Breast Cancer Awareness month. Komen Maryland is grateful for the support of these participants as we continue to work towards a world without breast cancer.

Want to turn your house pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Visit the “specialty lighting section” at your local Lowe’s store to pick up the Sassy pink mood lite from Mood-factory. Mood-factory is selling household light bulbs as well as outdoor floodlights. For each bulb sold, .25 cents will be donated to Komen Maryland.
