Throw the book at her

I can't stand public officials that take advantage of their position for personal gain. I hope they throw the book at her and she never serves in public office.

Stupidity Gets a HUGH Laugh...

Jay Leno talked about Mayor Dixon's conviction tonight in his monologue...in taking gift cards for the needy to use for her own benefit. Jay Leno made fun of Ms. Dixon's 'mistake'...and it produced a HUGH laugh from the audience. Stupidy always does! What a sad joke this week on the good citizens of Baltimore...

A petty crook is still a crook

Yes, as crimes go, it was a minor one . . . but a damned creepy and callous one. Clearly, the woman has at least one moral blind spot. She should step down before she and the city are embarrassed any further.

STATEMENT on DIXON fr COUNCIL PRESIDENT STEPHANIE RAWLINGS-BLAKE

STATEMENT FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT STEPHANIE RAWLINGS-BLAKE
"This is a difficult and sad day for Baltimore. My only goal right now is to continue to do my job, making sure that the people and the City are protected and that public safety and essential services are maintained. That is what I’m doing and I urging everyone in City Government to do the same. We need to respect the legal process as we continue to protect and serve the City."

What a shame! Mayor Dixon

I am embarrassed and sad for the City. I sure expected better of a mayor who had such potential to be a role model for girls and women throughout the region.

Oh, Sheila.....

She's going to have to put those Jimmy Choo shoes on Ebay to pay for her mounting legal fees.
I voted for her..what another letdown. really don't see how someone could just "forget" and leave gift cards from a charity auction in their home. Hopefully Stephanie Rawlings- Blake will be her replacement.

I think there is a lot more to it...

I wonder if she stole the money to support her friend former DC's Mayor Marion Barry's drug habbit? Let's see if Baltimore is as stupid as DC and gets her back in office! I hope part of her restitution is to work at homeless shelters and soup kitchens so the people she hurt can come face to face with her... Thank God Baltimore is a great city and will overcome this!

I think she was convicted.

I think she was convicted. Her indictments came in January. I have worked with this mayor on a few occassions and it makes me sad to see this happen. She was a very intelligent person and a fierce advocate for kids. Unfortunately we see that she was unable to overcome temptation.

Now maybe we can get someone that will be tough on crime and allow this great city to shine the way it should.

Mayor Dixon

I taken money out of my own pocket to help homeless children and low income families with children in the household. I sometimes go without food to make sure these kids have. I committed myself to my non profit organization and to see Mayor Dixon spend foolishly on herself just sickens me. I am on disability and want to give back to community so I scrimped and saved to start a non profit organization to help children and she is stealing from them. How do you sleep at night. I hope they find a honest Mayor to help Maryland and Baltimore.
