Famed Maryland Chefs cook specialties on National TV-next up-Longo's smoked crab cakes & a Sunday Funday PJ Brunch

Renown Maryland Chef to be featured on CBS MORNING Show, Saturday, July 2 at 8 AM. Set your TIVO, DVR and alarms. Just before Breakfast at Wimbledon will be a treat far from strawberries and cream, but equally delicious.

Chef Nancy Longo of Baltimore's PIERPOINT RESTAURANT in Fells Point was hand picked to share her skilled recipe for her famous smoked crab cake to do the CBS Saturday morning show. Exclaiming on facebbok, Longo writes, "It's OFFICIAL.... we'll be embracing our inner crab cake next saturday ... in NY on the early morning.... CBS early show! .... if you're up early , you might just finally get that smoked crab cake recipe!"

 

The CBS MORNING Show will feature a few local chefs from around the country, showing ideas for foods for the 4th of July! Chef Nancy will be demonstrating how she smokes her crab cakes as well as showing folks around the country how to crack and pick a crab. The show will be broadcast from the NY studios of CBS!

Chef Nancy Longo started cooking at the age of 7 with her Italian Grandmother who taught her whole family how to cook.  Her formal training began in 1982, when she attended and graduated from Baltimore's International Culinary College.  Her early years in cooking took her all over the state of Maryland, New York, Arizona, as well as small trips to learn about Southern Louisiana cuisine with Chef Paul Prudhomme.

 

Chef Nancy has owned PIERPOINT RESTAURANT for over two decades, for over 15 years she has been representing the Baltimore Ravens at the SuperBowl's Taste of the NFL event raising money for Hunger Related charities. Since 2010,  Nancy was chosen by the Churchill Downs team to represent another hunger related charity, Taste of the Derby, where she represents Baltimore and the Preakness race, as part of the triple crown.      

 

Just last month, the VOLTAGGIO brothers, Michael and Bryan, whipped up a Father's Day feast on the weekly "Chef on a Shoestring" segment. The duo became famous by starring in season six of Bravo's "Top Chef." Since then, they've kept that momentum going, Bryan is the chef and owner of Volt Restaurant in Frederick, MD, and Michael is in his first solo venture, Ink, (as in tattoo) in Los Angeles.

 

July 2009, Chef Adam Rather of Baltimore's famed Mother's Bar & Grille and its Purple Patio was featured on NBC's TODAY SHOW show competing in a best burger contest where he touted his popular Deep Fried Burger known on the menu as "HEART  ATTACK  ON  A  PLATE."   Mother's is hosting their bi-annual Pajama Brunch on Sunday Funday, July 3 from 8 AM-2 PM-and yes, the burger is on the menu.
