InterContinental Harbor Court Hotel changing to Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel

Something is brewing at Harbor Court Hotel and it's not just their in-room coffee machines. CITYPEEK has confirmed that the Hotel currently run by InterContinental is being taken over by Sonesta Hotels & Resorts.

Most of the staff is expected and hopeful to remain intact, but there are some changes. A new General Manager, David Kohlasch, formally of  Landsdowne Resort will most likely replace current General Manager, Arpad Romandy. Mr. Kohlasch has served as chief operating officer and executive vice president of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. He also served as vice president at the World Trade Center Boston. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kohlasch was director of food beverage for luxury hotels in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Orlando, Florida.

Additionally, John Stowell, has left his perch as Director of Sales & Marketing but he will stay with the InterContinental (IHG) family of hotels and as the new Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn in Alexandria, VA.

In a statement and posted on its website "Sonesta International Hotels Corporation is pleased to announce that the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore, formerly the InterContinental Hotel Harbor Court Baltimore, will begin operations on May 31, 2012." Reservations will be available for arrival beginning June 1st.
