BOCCACCIO of LITTLE ITALY SOLD! Hours ago, a piece of Baltimore history exchanged hands as BOCCACCIO'S Restaurant of Little Italy was sold at the auction block for $1,450,000. Orchestrated by AJ Billig & Co, the sale included turn-key operation along with parking lot, wine cellar, 7 day liquor liscence and working kitchen and even the artwork on walls.
Noted purchaser was thought to be a 'prominent, high profile attorney' who was represented by phone with a bidder on site. We confirmed it and yes, it is PETER ANGELOS, the proud new owner who was determined that the local institution is preserved.
"I believe the sale price was less than what we believe the value of the property is worth, "states Giovonna Aquia of Cafe Gia where we feasted on a grilled caesar with salmon prepared perfectly by Chef Gianfranco for lunch after the sale. Giovanna mentioned that she had her very own table known as "Gia's table" in the dining room where she conducted important meetings, meals with friends and sealed memories."
Little Italy Restaurant Owners/Managers seen in attendance were Nino Germano of LA SCALA RISTORANTE (check out their new Salumeria), Giovonna Aquia of CAFE GIA, Mary Ann Cricchio of DaMimmo, Joe Di Pasquale, architect Peter Fillat, MO'S SEAFOOD's Farhad Jafari. Also saw Rob Roblin and his TV 11 crew. See WBAL Video of BOCCACCIO Auction: www.wbaltv.com/video/22594854/index.html
Many thousand of memories are left in the melting snow and we cannot wait to post new ones in what is to come.

Walking Tours of DC>
If you are one to enjoy seeing a city by walking there is a great company called DC By Foot. They also have a web site www.dcbyfoot.com. some of the places that you can visit on this tour is the Washington Monument, World War II Monument, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, The Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial, All included on the Monument Tour. which is about a two hour tour.
Then if that is not of your liking take the Lincoln Assassination Walking Tour. This is one of my favorites as this is a time that changed the history of our country.
What is interesting is these guides work for tips and the tour is free.
This is one thing that makes these tours more interesting is the love they have for the history and just want everyone to learn and enjoy.

Newseum This is one of the
Newseum
This is one of the most interesting museums and I take time to enjoy it often. The museum is interactive with centuries of history and up to the date technology all on America's Main Street near the capitol.
When you enter the museum you should take time to visit the orientation room to become acquainted with the different levels and exhibits that are available.
The piece of the Berlin Wall is something you want to touch and just remember when this was inforce and if you do not remember learn.
There is also a guard tower for you to do the same.
If the terrace is open do visit and enjoy the view of the district and the capitol.
Takes about four to five hours to really take in all of the exhibits.
Then stop by the Great Restaurant The Source Great food and relaxing.

President Lincoln's Cottage
President Lincoln's Cottage
This cottage is located at the Solider's Home on a beautiful hilltop overlooking Washington Dc. The President visited this cottage often and this was much his home as The White House. He and his family felt really comfortable here and entertained often. This is where they would spend most of the families summers.
Be sure to take a guided tour of this cottage so that you can learn of the importance of this retreat to the President.

Benefits
If the previous owners are glad I'm glad too. I think that when a business is sold to the part which is going to invest in it and do something great out of it, it is perfect. I've read a book about business strategies (found the book in pdf format at shared files SE http://filecraft.com ). And I found out that sometimes such businesses are bought and then are closed in oder destroy the competitor. The same situation was with a brewery in may city. It is a pity that people suffered as they lost job. But I think it is not the case here, and everybody will benefit from this deal.
