The Baltimore Orioles are a professional baseball team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Orioles are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's American League.

The club was established as a major league club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1901. In 1902 they moved to St. Louis and became the St. Louis Browns. The Browns moved to Baltimore in 1954 and assumed the nickname Orioles, which is the traditional nickname of numerous Baltimore baseball clubs.
